Every Child Matters Cupcakes 🧡

On September 30, we recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day. A day to honour Residential School Survivors, their families and communities, and to remember the children who never returned home.

Orange Shirt Day was inspired by the story of Phyllis Webstad, who shared how the new orange shirt her grandmother bought for her was taken away on her first day at residential school. Her story became a powerful symbol of the loss of identity, culture, family and belonging experienced by so many Indigenous children. Today, the orange shirt represents remembrance, hope and a commitment to the truth that Every Child Matters.

At Flirt, we believe that remembering is only one part of reconciliation. It is also about listening, learning, supporting Indigenous-led work and carrying these lessons forward.

This year, we're offering our Every Child Matters cupcakes, with 100% of the profits donated to the Orange Shirt Society. The Orange Shirt Society is Indigenous and survivor founded, and works to raise awareness of the impacts of residential schools, support reconciliation, and keep the Every Child Matters message alive.
